SUMMER MUSIC CAMP

July 7 -July 19, 2008

I Artisti Summer Music Camp is a Christian youth performing arts camp which offers combination of intensive orchestral training and variety of spiritual activities. In partnership with the Biola Conservatory of Music, the I ARTISTI Summer Music Camp offers a variety of activities that encourage students age 8 -18. Each day, students attend two full rehearsals and also participate in the One O'clock Concert Series. During the One O'clock Concert Series, Festival Orchestra members assigned for that day will perform a prepared solo recital piece of their own choice as well as listen to the performance of the guest artists. All the events take place in Crowell Hall located on the beautiful Biola University campus in the heart of La Mirada, California.

ELIGIBILITY

I Artisti Summer Music Camp, as an educational program, provides high-level orchestra training for young musicians under the guidance of professional teachers. Our music camp is designed for the string and piano students who are in the beginning to advanced level. Applications are accepted for the following instruments: Strings, Woodwinds, Brass and Piano. ENSEMBLE DESCRIPTIONS

Chamber Players - Beginning to early intermediate level string players will begin to discover the art of ensemble playing as they work together to create beautiful pieces to inspire their audience.

Festival Orchestra - Serious, upper intermediate to advanced level musicians will have the opportunity to experience playing a wide range of standard string orchestra repertoire.

CONCERTO COMPETITION

Participation in competition is not required.
Previous winners of I Artisti Competition are not eligible to enter.

This year's instrument for the competition is Violin. If you wish to participate in the Concerto Competition, please come to camp prepared to play an appropriate piece listed below from memory. Winner will perform with the orchestra at the Final Concert on July 19 in the Crowell Concert Hall.
